Answer: A switching power supply is a device for transforming electricity from High voltage alternating current to low-voltage direct current to supply electronic circuits. Switching power supply has the advantage point that smaller and lighter than the Linear power supply. On the other hand, the heat transfer area is smaller than the Linear power supply.
