However, diamond saw blades are susceptible to heat and are therefore not suitable for cutting metals that reach high temperatures due to frictional heating. Segment-type diamond saw blades are suited to work that emphasizes sharpness. The blades have a large slit that facilitates chip discharge and cooling. They are mostly used for cutting concrete. In addition to the segment type, there is also a wave-type that delivers a beautiful cut surface, a rim type that is suited to set cutting and so on.
